Greenland's first Igloo (V)

the last days in Kulusuk were pretty stormy and snowy (we even had 2 stay 1 day longer cos the plane could not land)
so we/they built an igloo....

here u see me standing in the snow

and the poor dogs being covered by it...bless

and thats bent showing us sume seal skins

Greenlandic Ice Fishing, Sunsets and Drumdance (IV)

LETS GO ICE FISHING WITH OUR FRIEND BENT
Bent was born in Kulusuk, but works in Nuuk (Capital of Geenland)
He was really nice and showed us around and stuff.
But the icelandic guy who organizes the Greenland trips sayed, he was
- a notorious liar
- a wife beater
- a bullshitter
- a former prisoner

w'ever, he was nice 2 us, so nvm, u never know who u should believe

But in fact, sum of those locals were quite strange and all the want is the money of white people, but most of them were nice
one of them actually cut the hose, with which we filled our water tank cos he was kind of jealous as not every house can be connected wiht hoses, so they have 2 carry their water....

also the shit man (twice a week the shit buckets (toilet buckets) are meant to be collected) didnt collect our buckets and we had the full buckets in the house, and no toilet!!!!
SHOCKING!!!!!!!!

HALO

more icebergs (its gettn boring)

people trying 2 catch sum fish

me trying 2 catch sum fish............. in the end, no one caught any fish

sweet lil dog family with puppies
more dogs surrounded by shit
also see the red spot in the snow... that was a seal before the dogs ate them

cos SEAL OIL IS VERY IMPORTANT... IT KEEPS US WARM!!! (Bent)

dog cillin on top of a roof

kulusuk again

nice homes

nioce sunset

nice sky after the sunset

in the house of bents mum and stepdad...
the mum is inuit, the dad is danish....
and the mum is one of the few persons who still now how 2 do the traditional drumdance (apparently)

LOOK AT THE DANISH GUYS SHOES!!!!!!

the drum dance also included sexy parts, where she tried to be sort of .... sexy???

another outfit

Greenland's storms and auroras (III)

u cant imagine how cold it could be due 2 the bloody wind...
but with our amazing coats we never froze......

u couldnt even see the road anymore, cos it was all covered in wind blown snow....

the old inuit cemetery...with plastic flowers.. how cute...
notable is also, that in winter they cant bury the coffins. but nvm, they just put it on top of the grave, then they cover the coffin with rocks and wait until summer when the soil isnt frozen............ SHOCKING!!!!!!!!!

kulusuk lies on an island and is surrounded by the beautiful frozen sea

kulusuk in the middle of a little storm
me looking weird...but being warm

dogs....
i forget 2 mention that those dogs can shit like no one before!!!
They even shit while running in front of a sleigh.....................
and it's the most ridiculous smell ever...

we saw those dogs having sex when standing on this hill in the middle of the village, and i so wanned 2 take a picture...
so we rushed down like fuck, and i pretty much slipped and fell over like i dived into the snow...
it took us 10 minutes 2 stand right next 2 them, but they were still going on.... :o)

one night only we could se greenlandic northern lights!!!
but of course the pictures arent as good as the auroras actually were...

Greenlandic dogsleigh-adventure (II)

Time 2 abuse sum cute doggies and go on a dogsleigh-trip!
To b fair, the dogs here r definately not seen as pets, but as an useful animal!
And also if u first think they treat the dogs in a bad way, think about how we treat pigs or cows....
Actually the dogs are chained outdoors, but they have to pull a sleigh at least 2 times a week - otherwise they would forget the orders :o)
Regarding that quite a lot of people I know have their dogs chained or caged without taking them 4 a walk that often (sheila), the Greenlandic dogs' live could b worse.....

That is my crew: joe, ros and this inuit guy!!!!

that's how u sit on a sleigh..... we all felt like kids

here u can see the whole thing in action

and the front view

i so wanned 2 take one with me :o)

our destination, the glacier on the other side of the frozen fjord

THE BEAR
sliding on an iceberg

while the dogs having a rest/ fight/ bark around......

this dog was a bit injured and all his mates helped him....

well... not all of them! Sum preferred chewing on my glove.... oh joy!!!

and off we are again
